Palomino League
North Hills Palomino is offered to kids ages 17-18, and our primary goal is to offer the high school and freshmen college players an opportunity to fine-tune their skills in open competition. Designed for the aspiring amateur to hone and display their skills, Palomino enables these young adults to pit their talents for review by collegiate recruiters and professional scouts. This top-notch brand of baseball provides a fitting showcase for the talent developed within the North Hills School District.
The North Hills Palomino Baseball Club typically consists of players from the NH School Varsity Baseball Program, and participates in one of the local leagues. They play an approximate 32+ game schedule that includes games against other neighboring organizations and teams from the Western Pennsylvania "Elite" Baseball League (WPEBL). In the past, they have also participated participate in local tournaments: the QCN Palomino "Wooden Bat Bash", P.O.N.Y. Zone Qualifier, the Freedom Classic Showcase in Akron, Ohio, and the Atlantic Coast Baseball Elite Invitational.
Palomino Wooden Bat Tournament
The Memorial Day Wooden Bat Bash is an annual tradition consisting of teams, made up of players ages 17-18, from the Quad-County North Palomino League. The majority of the players are from their respective High School Varsity Baseball Team. The Tournament is a great opportunity for local college coaches to evaluate some potential new talent, observe a player(s) they may already have their eye on, or just take in some good baseball played the way it should be … with a wooden bat!
