NHAA Coach, Assistant Coach & Volunteers
Background Check Process
The PA Child Protective Services Law requires all coaches and volunteers involved with youth organizations to complete a State Police Criminal Record Check and a PA Child Abuse History Clearance. For those individuals who have not resided in PA continuously for the previous 10 years, they must also complete an FBI Criminal Background Check. Have questions? Anyone who would like to volunteer with NHAA this season will need to follow the steps below.
Step 1If you plan to volunteer to be on the field or in the dugout during the season you must sign up as a volunteer through our
NHAA website.
Step 2Complete the
PA State Police Criminal Record Check Online Form
Step 3Complete the
PA Child Abuse History Clearance Online Form
Step 4If you have
NOT resided in PA continuously for the previous 10 years, complete the
Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal History ClearanceStep 5Upload copies of your clearances to your volunteer role under your profile, or send copies of all completed clearances to us a
[email protected].
Volunteers are also obligated to report the following to the NHAA Board of Directors:
- Any convictions dating after the issue date of your newest clearance
- Any arrest within 72 hours of occurrence.
The NHAA Board of Directors reserves the right to remove volunteers for any reason and any time throughout the season.
